Re: Ceramic Brake Pads...

hmm, i noticed they have proact ceramic pads just for the rear & not the front???????
anyway i have had the satisfied pro ceramics on the front for quite sometime now and they work as good as the stock with NO dust and very affordable. the only down side is they tend to squeel at times but not all of the time. i just had my front rotors replaced under the warranty and now there is no noise at all, but i am sure the noise will be back.

Re: Ceramic Brake Pads...

the warranty are for 3 years or 36,000 for 5 AT, covers pads and rotors, if the rotors cant be truned or out of spec, after only 13000 miles mine front rotor have less than 1mm left, so they have to replace them.

Re: Ceramic Brake Pads...

IMO, the best pads available for anything but track use are EBC Greenstuff pads. I've been using them for six years and give great braking, without dust or squealling. I replaced the OEM pads on my G35x at 200 miles; they eliminated the grabbiness and dust and tend to be easier on rotor wear. Tirerack has them, but I got them cheaper by searching online.

Re: Ceramic Brake Pads...

Just remember the ABS/TCS software is designed for oem soft fast attack pads and tires so when you redesign your system, things will usually change for the worst [except dust].

Whether the car takes 10-15 feet longer to stop [from 60 mph] should be a consideration.
Also cold stopping [0-50F ambient will be affected by pad compounds].

Re: Ceramic Brake Pads...

If you were changing to a pad with a very different friction profile, it might effect ABS, etc., but the EBC pads are very close to the OEM. Unlike the semi-metallics and some ceramics, the kevlar pads are a little better than OEM at cold temperatures. Semi-metallics in particular can be a real problem for street use in clod climates. The near match to OEM, without the dust, is why the EBC pads are so terrific.
