I've seen it if you have all wheels/tires the same size, sure, but why? Wide rears are part of the look as well as part of the function. To each his own

I don't want to, but he's willing to let them go to me for a couple hundred ONLY, since he's getting rid of the car. It would be so wrong to turn around and re-sell So I was wondering if i should actually just get them and use them since it's a killer deal. they're 19's fitted with 225 sized tires.

so it's pretty much jsut less grip right? spinning out alittle more when chirping gears... or is there something else I should be worried about?

This is all assuming that I get it, which I might not. but just a thought.

The rims are the same size on our cars. It's just the tires that are different. I run a non-staggered setup on my car, 245's front and rear on stock rims.... works fine as long as you keep your overall tire diameter within close proximity of stock so that the VDC doesn't get all screwed up.

i've read on here that a non-staggered set up could throw off your VDC.

so it does mean less grip though right? especially when chirping through the gears?

some have problems with VDC, others have not, *noted.

all I can say about the IS350 is that... it's fast... slightly jelous... and now she never wants to drive ANYWHERE!

Where's ORLY I want to see him say that non staggered rims on a coupe make him sad.

Yah, you have to do something about that gf's car faster than your car thing. You might as well be holding her purse too.

Partyman, so what exactly are you running now?

My wifes rear tires on the stock 19s are fine. I just wanted to throw new front tires on it. I HATE how the 225s look stretched, not to mention they are actually MORE expensive then running a wider set.

Do you think 245-35-19s would be OK in the front without upsetting the VDC? (this is while maintaining the standard 245-40-19 in the back).

Or, are you running 245-40-19s all around?!
