275/35 or 275/30 in the rear?

Sound bout same to me.
The 30/35 indicates that this tire size's sidewall height (from rim to tread) is 30/35% of it's section width.

245/40/19(OEM rear size)=26.7" diameter
275/30/19=25.5" diameter
over 1" shorter than stock, does that still sound the same?

You don't get it, the stock tire sizes have a height stagger front to rear. the 275/30/19 rear not only eliminates this, but it reverses it by making the front taller than the rear. This will change the handling characteristics of the car.

Sidewall: Front 4.4 Inches Rear 4.6 Inches
OEM 18 Inch: 225/45R18; 245/45R18
Sidewall: Front 3.9 (almost 4) inches Rear 4.3 Inches
OEM 19 Inch: 225/40R19; 245/40R19
Sidewall: Front 3.5 Inches Rear 3.8 Inches
OP Setup: 245/35/19; 275/35/19 or 275/30/19
Sidewall Front 3.3 Inches Rear 3.7 Inches or 3.2 Inches
With 275/30 rear is 0.2 lower then front. That is 2 tenth of an inch.
It is not enough to offset any weight balance or airflow.
On the track it will only be positive factor due to a smaller sidewall and less tire play.

The front and rear tires are NOT supposed to have the same diameters.

Joker, you lose on this one, you somewhat have an understanding, but you're failing to see the bigger picture. Even if you look at the 275/30, compared to the 245/35 front, the front is still greater in diameter than the rear which should NEVER be done. Sidewall height makes no difference as long as the diameter in the rear is greater than in the front (just how it comes from the factory)
