Re: lowering sedan

I have this weird feeling that I got more than the advertised drop with the Eibach ProKit on my sedan. I compared it to a stock setup (side by side with Geo's car).

Although we didn't take any measurements, visually the Eibach's look like a 1.5- 1.75" drop.. I'm sure I'm that it may just be an illusion, as I recall other members posting actual before and after measurements with the ProKit.

I can say I'm happy with the Eibach's. The drop is just right and my car maintains a pretty decent ride despite the low profile tires.

Re: lowering sedan

iteo...
If you plan on getting wheels for your ride, depending on your set-up, it may raise your G a little. I have the Eibachs on my Sedan and love it. It doesn't seem to be as much as 1.5 to me, maybe 1.25 at most.

P.S.
For those who care. I drive a Silver Sedan 6MT CA license plate "KRZ HAYN" = "Krazy Hawaiian". A "Shaka" is always welcome.

Re: lowering sedan

I just got the Eibach pro-kit installed last week, click on the link in my sig to see pics.

Found the numbers of before and after the spring install. These measurements were taken with the stock wheels/tires installed:

Location: Before | After
Drivers Front 28 3/16 | 26 5/8
Drivers Rear 27 3/4 | 26 1/8
Pass. Front 28 3/8 | 26 7/8
Pass. Rear 28 1/16 | 26 1/2

These were taken right after the install, may be slightly different now that they've settled.

Re: lowering sedan

I installed the Eibach pro kit this past monday, and I do believe that it drops the car lower then the 1.1 inches in the front, seems about 1.1 in the rear. I have the coupe wheels on my sedan, and was worried about dropping the rear cos there was very little gap between the rear tires and wheel well. But I haven't rubbed and it seems fine.

Ekaz I am glad you posted your results. I noticed that my rear driver side was little lower then the rear passenger side. But it was like that before the spring install. a little less then 1.5 finger vs 1 finger gap. So I guess its normal, cos it seems like on your results you car is the same. I wanted the fronts to be a little lower but i think when i go 245/45 all around the fronts will fill in better. Plus after the springs settle. Anyone have any recommendations on when I should go get my wheels aligned as close to factory spec as possible? I know I should give it some time for the springs to settle.

Re: lowering sedan

my guess is since the tires you have are a 1/2" smaller than the original, I think 25.7 vs. 26.3 (might be wrong), it makes the gap look even bigger....need springs. The camber will be like -1.? all the way around once the springs are installed and an alignment is done.

Re: lowering sedan

iteo,
I have the same reaction as Zimbo ... Yikes!!!
Are you sure they (the tire people) didn't goof and mounted 35-series tires instead? They look suspiciously thin for 245/40-18s. Check the markings on the side of your tires just to be certain. Now that's what I call a wheel gap!

Re: lowering sedan

Well ... I guess ur ok then. As mentioned by somone above, your current tire/wheel combo is approximately 1/2" smaller than stock, which would of incrased the wheel gap by roughly 1/4". I suppose that looks about right.

No springs I know of will drop only 1". Your best bet is to go w. a set of cheap coilovers w. adjustable ride height.
