Re: Need tires!

Crap the goodyear's don't come in 265/40/18 what should I do? Can I get different tires for the rear? What about 245/45/80 in the rear with 245/40/18 in the front?

Thanks - Joey Avino

Re: Need tires!

265/40s are to big (wide) for the stock 8" rims. The recommended rim width range is from 9" to 10.5". Go with the 245/40s in front and 245/45 (stock size) or 255/45/18 in the back. The larger footprint in the front will help reduce understeer, and your car will handle a hellava lot better. The 255s are just a wee bit higher than the stock tire (depending on who makes them) the range is from .1" to .4" larger. They are also a tade wider. If I had the stock wheels, I would use the 245/40s in front and the 255/45s in the rear. BTW, I'm partial to the Dunlop SP9000s.

Re: Need tires!

isn't it replace to different size than stock will throw off total mileage of a car too? such as if new tires are 1% bigger, than total mileage will show 1% less than what you actually drove.. isn't it?

Re: Need tires!

Yeah, I'm not sure how much life I have left on my tire. Is there a sure way to check this?

Thanks - Joey Avino

Re: Need tires!

The bridgestone S03's would be my choice. Plus they come in our stock sizes.

Im waiting for michelin to come out with the pilot sport PS2's in our sizes. Thats when i'll change my tires.
