Re: Coilovers

Since you've mentioned that your hesitant because of ride quality concern's the Tein flex should not be choosen, they use springs that are 114% stiffer than stock. You want a system that is as close to possible to the oem spring rates. A good bet would be the HKS system you've mentioned. They do use very soft rear springs, so if you do push the cornering limits the car will understeer more. Another choice, that I feel is a better choice along the lines of ride comfort would be the Tein CS coilovers, which would offer the closest spring rates to oem at 392 and also give you adjustable dampners (not just adjustable ride height). But, if you have a good deal on the HKS lined up (less than $1395 I hope), go for it. Tein CS coilovers run around $1535 in case you wanted to know the price.

Re: Coilovers

Keep in mind that stiffer springs don't necessarily equate to a harsher ride if the dampening is setup right. I've ridden in an S4 that ran 700/800 lbs springs mated with Koni dampeners that rode great.

Re: Coilovers

What are the spring rates on the LS+? Are the the same 8Kg/6Kg as the LS version for the G35? I know the hypermax II uses 9/9. But zero spec's are avaliable for the LS+.

Re: Coilovers

you can find info on the LS+ on the HKS japan website. they are 9 front and 8 rear (504lb/in, 448lb/in). the front is sprung too high, however, and i am going to change the fronts to 8kg/mm like the rear.
