235 tires on stock 17x7 rims?

I have a set of Pirelli P-Zero Nero tires laying around. The tires on my 05 G35x need replacement, so would 235/50/17 tires fit on my stock 17x7" wheels? The main concern is the width (rims too narrow?). Thanks

that is a lot of tire for that rim. usually 235s you'll see it on 8 to 8.5 rims. i forgot the conversion but 235 is right around 8 inches of width. it'll look funny that's for sure.

I had 235 tires that wouldn't fit on 17x7 rims. Not sure if that's the case with all 235's though. I ended up getting 17x8 rims, since the 7's were scratched up anyway...

I run 235/50/17 on 17x7 OEM sedan wheels for my winter setup on the rear, and it works fine. The tires do bulge quite a bit, but its within the specs for rim width of 6.5-8.5"

I have been running 235/50-17's avon's 550 and they fit okay. a little bulge but not too bad. 235/50-17 have almost the same exact diameter as the 215/55-17 OEM's.
