Max Tire Width

Hey Gang, I have an '05 Sedan with 19' rims. Does anyone know what the widest tire you can put on without rubbing?

Are 255's too wide?

Thanks, Lava

We will need to know if they are stocks (whcih model) or not (if not, what's the offset).

Next Q is whether your car is dropped or not and if so how much is it lowered.

Then we can answer your Q

I am upgrading to the Sport Edition ST4 19" with offset of 42mm.

The car is not lowered and I am now just looking to find tires to put on the rims.

I am still deciding if I should put wider tires on the rears or not.

Thx

I have run this tire spec in the front. I do not see how a tire with greater sectional or tread width could be run. Watch rolling diameter, it brings the tire closer to the fender lip before the camber curve can pull it out of the way during travel.

Sectional width 10.3"
Thread width 9.4"
Rolling diameter 25.9"
Rim offset 45mm
Rim width 8" (not ideal, but when you see below you'll understand)

Clearance to suspension upright est 1/2 mm or about the thickness of 5 sheets of paper or less.
Clearance to fender lip full suspension arc, less then 5mm
