Depending upon the wheel type, your factory TPMS might work. If your factory sensors fit, you don't even need a reprogramming.
If you do get another set of sensors, you just need to get it reprogrammed at an Infiniti or Nissan dealership. Usually costs ~$50.

Do a search, I believe that accordfreak has a DIY somewhere about how to get stock sensors to fit on any wheel.

Most TPS usually do the same thing. It's a pretty simple system, to ask for the best suggest you're willing to pay top bucks to know when you have a low tire. Kind of a daily pre-drive insp I would think. Anyway most are the ones that stick to the inside of the rim or installed on the valve stem. I'm not sure how much the stealership will charge to program them to your car's CPU. Probably weigh all cost against buying them outright from the stealers, installation will probably be free (good luck)

I need to get this done on my wheels as well, stealership said it would cost $99 to reprogram.

The thing is, I bought a set of 19" Rays & he only had 3 TPMS sensors. I asked Inifniti if they could take 1 of my old ones from my old Stock 17"s and to reprogram, they said it would cost $99 for this. Doesn't seem too bad to me, would be nice if I could do it myself.

light won't come on, if you don't have sensors in the wheels. for the 03-04 models. Don't know about the newer ones though. I went through 2 different sets of wheels without sensors, and no tire pressure light on dash.

Mine hasn't come on either & I'm missing 1 sensor and these aren't calibrated to my car. I heard it takes from 30-45 mins of driving on the 05+ models, I'll let you guys know when mine comes on.

your original OEM TPMS should work, no?... Mine worked on Volks CE28... no reprogramming needed... just be sure to mount on the same postion tire (r/r, l/r, r/f, l/f)...

thats odd... the sending unit sends a signal to the TPS - if it doesnt get a response the light comes on... I know this only because I went through 4 trips to dealer on this... I'm 04.5 though (if that matters )

They do, but it's cheaper for me to replace 1 sensor and get it recalibrated than to mount/unmount all 4 sensors from my old wheels.

UPDATE: I called my local Nissan dealer & they'll do the same service for half the price, they'll charge $50 for it.

Mine is a 04.5 also. Purchased new at Sep of 04. Light never comes on when on after market wheels, but when I put stocks back on, it functions normally (noise and light when low tire pressure).
