Quick response guys!

I am currently lookin at an '04 G35 Coupe. It is making alot of road noise when driving. The dealer said its because the front tires are to wide and are making vibrations against the car. They are 225/45/18 on the front right now.Is this legit? Also would 245/40/18 be a good setup for the front? I searched and couldn't find anything. Please respond quickly! Thanks

if the tires are old...excessive road noise is common.

They are brand new tires. Would 245/40/18 work better in the front?

i don't think the size of the tire is the issue. If the tires are new, it could be an alignment issue.

road noise has nothing to do with the width of the tire.

Could it be that the tires are just bad? The allignment seemed fine. Anything else you could think of that it might be?

225/45/18 are the stock tire sizes for the the OEM 18's. Why did the dealer say they were too wide? Do you have OEM 18's on?

They said the inside lip of the tire is rubbing against the car. Yes they are OEM 18's.

I don't know how that would be unless the toe or alignment or something is off? 225/45/18 are stock tire sizes, so it doesn't make sense when they are saying it is too wide.

245/40/18 would be wider than 225/45/18
