I was talking to a guy at a tuner shop around here that will be intalling 350z tein s-tech springs on my G Sedan and I asked him if the wheels I have on my 300zx will fit my sedan to which he replied there could be a problem. The 300zx wheel setup is 18" 9.5in wide rear (275/35 tire) and 18" 8.5in wide front (245/40 tire). The guy who I talked to said many G owners have trouble fitting a 275 in the rear without rolling fenders and playing with camber. Is this true? The offset was +35 all around I believe. The sit really flush on the Z, but not sure how the fitment would work on the G.
Even at stock height a 9.5 +35 with a 275 Will take HUGE amounts of negative camber as well a fender roll and you will still rub along with looking pretty goofy. I have ran 9.5 +35's with a 255 with the fender roll and at stock height it still rubbed over bumps. No way a drop will work with a 9.5 +35 and a 275.
So there is no way to run a really aggressive wheel tire combo on the G35? Damn, thats pretty disapointing. Looks like I'm sticking with the stock 17's and 15mm spacers or some kind of other wheel. I was also having a dispute over whether a sedan sitting on 350z s-techs would provide a lower drop than a sedan sitting on sedan s-techs. The 350z springs should offer a 1.7/1.6 inch drop front and rear right? While the sedan specific springs offer 2/1.3 inches front and rear. Which one is a better looking more balanced combination?

To many people throw the word aggressive around like you have to run 285 - 300's on a sedan to look cool.

Sure theres a way, it's called get the right offsets and run what fits as flush as you want it. When you start with an offset that is that far outside the fender line you either crank in hella negative camber to get the tire under or stretch the hell out of a much smaller tire. In your case, if it's a 9.5 that you want a +40 to +45 range will work just fine on your drop without the hassle.

i have a 9.5 +45 with 275 in the rear and i was lowered very low on almost stock alignment numbers. i raised my coils .5 inch all around dialed about 1% neg camber in the rear and have never rubbed again. i do not have rolled fenders.
i am thinking on upgrading to either a 10 or 10.5 in the rear and i'm trying to find the best offset for that.

Depending on the manufacturer of your tire you got lucky there. For example pirelli P6's are 10mm more narrow than an RE050 for the exact same size tire. I know many 275's that would not have worked on a 9.5 +45 with non rolled fenders, or even with rolled fenders for that matter. In fact I would love to see pictures of that if you have any because I'm having trouble believing it. Even rolled you should be on a 1-2mm gap.

Thanks, would love to see it. I guess my 05 is just weird. It's rolled almost flat and a 1" drop, 9.5" +40 with a 255 is only 1-2mm from hitting when the spring compresses. My alignment specs are stock, no adjustable camber arms.
