Loosing 2psi per month normal on 20s???????

Hey guys,

I recently put on 20" sevas with yokohama s drives and im consistently loosing about 2psi in all four tires per month. Is this normal? I have check to make sure i have no nails or anything. I run 37psi in the rear and 39psi in the front.

Some chrome will get damaged by the lube used during mounting, other than that temp changes can effect the psi.

That seems like high psi in the tires.

I'm saying chrome barrels can leak air. Adding info to the thread, wasn't assuming you had chrome barrels.

ohhh Well the lip is chrome but not the full barrel... I was reading that in warm climates with temperature fluctuations causes alot of psi loss. Also in case anyone is wondering i only check psi at night after its been sitting for at least 6 hours to insure accuracy.

haha, thanks man. I'd keep monitoring it if you're concerned. Like bigc asked if it were a thing you noticed over 6 months there might be something wrong.

That tire pressure is a little high no?

Well when i bought the tires i called Yokohama and they advised me those psi specs based on the load indexes on the their tires. I just read read that in warm climate with temp fluctuations it is actually normal to loose about that 1 psi a month. Im assuming since i also keep a high psi that might push more air out faster.

39 psi is high for 20s? on my old car with 20s, I ran 50 psi front and rear with 255/35/20 tires. It was a Grand Marquis so it still rode super smooth. With low profile tires, the risk of denting the rim is too high to not run high pressure.
