What exactly are they?

I have seen pictures that say for instance "time attacks installed" and I automatically think it's black rims with a red stripe around the rim.. Now is this the true definition of time attack rims? Or what is?

pretty much. "time attack" for wheels is usually a black wheel with red lip stripe. some people have done other color combinations.

 

its a marketing scheme by volk, where they take an idea thats been around for a while(black wheels with red lip) and hype it up as "time attack" style.
