Will Spacers make the TPMS light go on?

As the title of the thread states...will spacers make the TPMS light go on? I ask this because spacers go inbetween the wheel and the hub (duh) so wondering if that distance will trip up the TPMS sensor.

Sorry if this is a noob question...
