Do 285 tires on coupe in rear rub?
Do 285 tires on coupe in rear rub?
I'm wondering if anyone has put 285's on the rear wheels of a coupe, either 9.5 or 10.5 inch wide rims. My car is lowered but not by much, about 1/2 or 3/4 in. I'm also wondering why a lot of people put 275's on 10.5 in rims, looks narrow to me. Any plusses or minuses on the setup would be help. Thanks.
Yes they do. I have talked to a few Z and G owners who are running 285/35 on 10.5 wheels which is closer to stock rolling diameter as well as less stretched.
But 275 is as wide as you can go with non-aggressive offsets and possibly not rub.
With 285, you will definitely have to cut/roll your fenders to fit them.

I am going to be running Volk CEs in the future 9.5 +22 out front and 10.5 +22 out back, and that setup apparently requires a roll...I guess I'll see what happens when they actually arrive.
