OEM bridgestone potenzas are GARBAGE!!!!

These tires are supposed to be such great run flat tires blah blah blah... I got this quote from tire rack:

If you've ever been late for a date, appointment, or meeting because of a flat tire, you already know how frustrating it can be.
HELL ****ING YES I know how frustrating it can be.. My OEM bridestone gave out on the highway and its suppose to be a run flat tires I can still drive on.. NOPE.. I got a bunch of CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK CLUNK and had the car pull extremely hard to the left.. I could in no way possible drive over this "run flat" tire.. The only good it did was protect my rim from damage.

I lost my chance on a date with a girl because of this POS tire.. this is the 3rd RE050A i've been through due to malfunction.

When changing out for the spare I had chunks and long strands of rubber wrapped so tightly around the whole brake assembly.. caliper, rotor.. everything was wrapped in tire strings.

This picture does NOT do the damage justice

Check avatar to see what I had to pull up in for a date that ditched me because of this crap tire.

Not to mention that they perform like crap and are loud as hell.

Don't forget the max 15K miles if you are lucky that you pay for with them as well. I'll never own another set.

i didn't know the stock potenza's are run flat. I know there's a run flat model of the Potenza's with the same name/number but i think they have a RF at the end...

OEM tires are not run-flats.

run-flats are designated specifically as run-flats, and cost much more.

You really want a girl that ditches you for due to a spare tire?

OP based runflat statment on the RE050A RFT on tirerack rather than the standard non-runflat model that we have.

This was a front tire and the tread came off the inside - I would say tire feathering was left unchecked based on how worn down the rest of the tread appears in the picture. If I would have run my stock RE050A's down that far, I wouldn't have been the least bit surprised when the inside tread flew off. Feathering is a major bummer and if my assumption is correct, Nissan is to blame here, not Bridgestone.

I don't like RE050A's either, but people reading this shouldn't get it in their heads that all their RE050's are suddenly going to explode for no reason. As far as the other 2 malfunctions go, I would be curious to know what happened there......

I just had a loaner S with almost 20k on it, the Potenzas looked like they still had about 5k left in them.

Everyone loves to hate on the RE050A, but it's OEM equipment for SO many brands...

BMW, Porsche, Nissan, Infiniti, Honda, Mazda, just to name a few.

If you go 15k miles on the OEM tires, you're going to go through ANY tire quickly.

I was still on my OEM tires from the factory at 38k before my G was totalled, and I still had a good 5/32" left on them.

I can absolutely guarentee that I drive my cars hard.

They guy I bought the rims from had all fours wrapped in those bridgestones and he told me that they are run flats. I've been through 3 of them.. I'm on my last one which I'm getting changed out soon.

The tires were worn, yes... but they still had a good 1500-2K miles left.
