Is the Z rolling diameter same as the G

Yea guys i have a question. I just bought these wheels from a fellow Z member which included tires. Now the tires is 255/35/18 frt and 265/35/18 rear. I plugged the numbers into the tire calculator and it is off by alot, 4% each wheel i believe. Any ways can i still drive on these or will i retard the traction control. I want to get the most out of the tires, I know it will make my spedo off and increase or decrease mileage but that is fine with me since this will be my car for a long time. My question is.. Will it be dangerous to drive with this setup and will it make the vdc act crazy?

The tire specs and stagger for the "Z" and "G" are the same. The stagger expects to see a difference of about 1" between the front to back outer diameter of the wheel and tire combo. You are currently running tires that are a lot smaller in outer diameter than stock. And, the difference between front to back is only .3".

First off, you should be running 245/40/18 in front and 275/40/18 in back.

The diameters are:

Stock - 225/45/18 - 25.9"
245/45/18 - 26.7"

245/40/18 - 25.7"
275/40/18 - 26.7"

255/35/18 - 25.0"
265/35/18 - 25.3"

As you can see the correct wider tires (on the correspondingly wider wheels) are about the same OD as the stock tire. The tires you have are close to an inch too small in front and close to an inch and a half too small in back. Yes this will throw off your speedometer and leave a much bigger gap between the tire and fender than the stock sizes. It will also lower your load carrying capacity and could affect the car's electronics. I believe your VDC will notice this difference and respond in ways that you wont like.

My suggestion, throw the tires away and buy the correct sizes.

Lou

THe guys used it on is Z with these tires specs. And if the tire specs are the same then it wouldn't be a problem right? I'm just really worried about the rolling diameter since it is noticeably smaller than stock specs. The tires still has a good half life of tread left.

Not all Z's have VDC, while all G's do. That might be the difference. You might okay with them, hard to say

Thanks, I guess I'll just have to try by trial and error.
