Tire Pressure Sensor

Has anyone with an 04 with the Tire Pressure Sensor swapped out your rims for the 18's....what all is involved with the swap out?
Do all 04's have the tire pressure sensor?

Re: Tire Pressure Sensor

Well, it depends on exactly what you want...

You said swap out rims. If you replace your current rims with a new set, it should be fairly straight forward to remove the sensors from your current rims and install them on the new rims. Check with your retailer to make sure the sensors will fit in your new rims.

If you want to have two sets of rims, it gets more complicated. You can buy a second set of sensors for ~$400 each ($1600 for all 4). And then if you did that, you would still have to take it to the dealer to get the sensors "registered" whenever you swap rims.

If you choose to get new rims and NOT use tire pressure sensors in them, the car doesn't complain too much about not haviing the sensors.
