Hi,

I had my new PIAA's installed yesterday with 245 front and 275 rear S03's and the tire guy told me I should get an alignment cuz I put AF wheels on. I couldn't see the logic and was wondering if he was just trying to plug another shop for biz. (BTW, he handed me a slip for and SPECIAL rate for going to THAT place for the alignment)

from what i know, if you just put on wheels then you do not need an alignment. now if you put on wheels and you lowered your car then you do.

 

If it is just wheels, and with the tires they are the same O.D., then you do not need an alignment. If you lower, or the O.D. of the tires are different, then you should. If the offsets are significantly different, then you probably should too. (But that is not that big of a deal).

in some cases the stock alignment maybe off. If you don't plan on lowering your car, I would spend the 50 and get the alignment.
