TPMS question

To remove the TPMS does it requires dismounting the tires? I am wondering because I wanted to buy some rims and I do not want the tpms so I can save some money but he asked me if he needed to dismount the wheels. Thanks

The TPMS sensors are part of your valve stems. You need to dismount the tires, remove the sensors, and remount the tires. Alternatively, you could just sell your old wheels with the sensors and pick up some used sensors for your new wheels.

Depending on what brand/model of tires and the wear pattern on them, you should check to see if they need flipping (dismounting of tires so you can rotate side-to-side and remounting tires). If so, it would be a perfect time to remove the sensors. Should be no additional cost except for a few dollars for new valve stems.
