2004 6MT Rear Tire question

I have the stock set-up for 2004 6MT with the performance wheel package:
225/45WR18 and 245/45WR18 Michelin Pilot sport with Brembos.

My rear tires are DONE, but they lasted 4 years and 35,000 miles +

It appears that the PS2s are good tires for someone who is not looking for the absolute BEST tires, and it sounds like they are an upgrade form the older pilot sports.

My question is can I get tires a bit wider like 250/45 or 255/45 without any fit issues? Will there be any benefit? Any detriment like worse gas mileage?

If I do go wider, do I then do wider when I have to replace the fronts?

Thanks!

I would stick to 245/45/18 on that 8" wheel, tires only come in 10mm increments, and a 255 should be mounted on a wheel at least 8.5" wide
