spring or coilover?

For lowering the car, is it better to use coilover rather than spring?\
I heard that if we use only the spring to lower the car, within 5 months the shock will go bad.. is that true?

Re: spring or coilover?

if loweing is ALL you want and nothing else... than do springs...and no i have not herd of anyone shock die after 5 month..well depends on the roads your on but on average they do fine... my friend has been on tien springs for 2years and the spring rates are very close to stock so nothing bad is assumed to happen.

coilovers (depending on the type) let you controll everything...

Re: spring or coilover?

yeah.. all I want is just to lower the car... so I guess I'll just go with spring instead of coilover.
Thanks...

Re: spring or coilover?

np, depending on the drop will = how much neg camber your call will get...

so dont drop toooo much... because then tire life and wear will rocket unless you get the toe & arm adjustment links which can get you to 0

Re: spring or coilover?

Old older car coilovers can have camber plates which would let you control the camber but thanks to the Nissan Dynamic Suspesion design Camber plates will not control the camber from the coilovers.

Stillen & JIC make the camber correction toe and arm links
