Agree with SVLRx on his assessment of the tire. Excellent in the rain, but surprisingly noisy after some wear and it wore out faster than expected. The sidewall is fairly stiff for a std passenger car tire; e.g., you can really feel bots dots and raised lines to the point it somewhat upset the car's suspension.

Based on what replacement tires I have seen on lux-sedans in my office buildings parking lot (e.g. late model MB E classes and BMW 5 series), I suggested my brother -in-law get the Goodyear Triple-Treds for my sister's BMW E39 touring.
They took a cross country trip and claim they offer improved handling over the OEM Continental Touring Contacts, while providing decent compliance over rough pavement.
These tires were installed towards end of Chicago's past 90"+ snowfall winter, and the Triple-Treds offered very good traction in the white stuff.
To boot these come with an 80,000 mile warranty which means that if the tires UNDER NORMAL USE wear to 2/32" prior to 80,000 miles they are replaced prorated based upon the percentage of 80,000 miles remaining.
