Z Suspension noise?

SoCalTed advised me to post this here, thanks.

I hear a creaking noise from the rear whenever I accelerate/decelerate. I don't hear it so much when I'm cruising. So I'm thinking this is probably suspension related? I don't remember it before I put on the Z suspension, but then again, I only had the car about 3 weeks before doing that. I do have a 12" sub in the trunk, but again this only happens when accelerating/decelerating, not when stopped...

I doubt the dealer will help (b/c of mods, even if it was there before) so does anyone have any suggestions? What do you think the most likely source is and is it something I can fix (tighten rear sway bar bolts or something?) Does anyone else with the Z suspension hear creaking/cracking noises?

Sorry for all the questions. Thanks in advance.

Edit - Another thing I thought of is that it may be caused by the added weight of the amps/sub...or that and a combination of the Z suspension, so if anyone has both with no problems please let me know.

Re: Z Suspension noise?

Are you due for any service, soon? If so, have the dealer check it out while you're getting serviced. Most dealers don't mind checking things out for you if they're already being paid to perform work.

For instance, I installed my 350Z suspension myself (thanks to GSedan35 for the instructions) and then took it to the dealer for alignment. I told the service tech what I had done and just asked if they would "eyeball" my work to make sure nothing was out of sorts. Of course they wouldn't certify anything, but they were more than happy to check it out, and, in my case, let me know everything was copesetic.

Thanks, yeah I had the dealer do the alignment as well. The only problem is that I don't really have any other reason to go and it's kindof far. I'll just crank the stereo until I figure it out.

I don't know what it could be, I've run several different setup's on the rear of my car and not once has is make a strange noise in the rear. The front did have some strange noise's when I first installed the Z suspension, but it went away after not too long. I would suspect the inner lower control arm bushing (where the toe cam bolt is). Have you sprayed any of the bushings with WD-40?
