Tire Pressure Monitor/Wheel Help!
Tire Pressure Monitor/Wheel Help!
I want to purchase a set of stern wheels for my 2005 g35 sedan. The problem I have is the shop tells me the tire pressure monitor doesnt fit on these rims. Is this true? If so what can I do to get my tire sensor to work with this new set up? I really want to stay with these rims because I am getting a really great deal on them, so please help.
It probably is true. I dont know 100% about the wheels you stated, but I do know TPS do not fit all rims. They do not seat correctly in all rims. Im sure you can either:
A) get somebody to install them as is, but you could have an air leak at some point from the tire valve.
B) get somebody to machine the inside of the rim so the valve seats correctly (expensive and never safe to machine a rim)
C) Or just use them with no sensors
D) Get different rims
I would just use them without sensors, but hopefully for you the shop was just lazy and the TPS fit correctly on those rims.

My last set of Volks didn't fit the sensor. We used a 90 degree bracket to mount the sensor inside the wheel and we used the standard valve for the tire. That's what I would do.
