Has anyone had any abnormal tire wear? I only have 14,000 miles on my car and they are telling me that my right rear tire needs to be replaced as there is tire wear in the middle of the tire.

Wear in the middle of the tire is normal a sign of over inflation. What was the tire pressure? Second, without saying which tires you have, especially summer vs. all-season, 14,000 miles may or may no be unusual wear out. In addition, the type of driving you do and how you drive can have a huge affect on tire life. If you have high performance summer tires and you drive hard 14k isn't bad. However, the wear on a single tire, in the center, was probably just over inflation.
