Talk to me about agressive offsets and wheel bearings

I'm starting to hear a lot of talk how aggressive offsets cause issues. The argument goes that wheel bearings are selected with a certain offset in mind. Any adjustment too far from OEM causes an increased load on the bearings and premature wear. True or BS? Is it more of an issue with one platform or another? I think ppl are talking out of their **** but clear this up for me guys.

ideally, the wheel width should be centered at the hub mounting surface to minimize the torque applied to the wheel bearings. It is true that aggressive offsets in theory should increase the loads applied to the wheel bearings. Whether or not this actually leads to increased wear is not well known.

Not unless you are running those "roller skate" 510's with a +50 offset.
