Hey guys,

I was looking to get a set of my friends wheels he's running on his M5. Prob. is that the offsets on the M5 are around +20 and mine run no more than +25 w/o rubbing. I was looking to find a shop that could shave about 3-5mm off the hub of the rims to get them to fit w/o bulging from the fenders or rubbing real bad on the fenders. I will roll the rear fenders, but unfort. the 335s front fenders are plastic so no rolling the front (they should fit anyways).

Any ideas of a good reputable shop that will perform this type of machine work?? Most likely done with a lathe or similar type of machine...

 

if you were to shave off 5mm, wouldnt that lower the offset from +20 to +15?

 

Not quite, it'd move the mounting point from it's present point to 5mm inwards ( due to the machining ) which would essentially raise the offset of the rim to 25

I don't believe it's safe to machine that much off the rim though...

 

run some camber or get smaller tires

 

i would run more camber and stretch the tires more (use narrower tires than
wat it comes with) to achieve the clearance.

im not sure how the structural rigidity is affected when you shave off the
disc...so i would try to stay away from that unless your car is more like a
a showcar (static model).

 

Do it right, neg camber and some stretch tires! FTW
