Has anyone tried this size on the rear of a 1st gen sedan?

Wheel spec is 18x9.5 +35, lowered on Tein S-tech springs

I was just comparing the rear M5 wheels w/ 285/35/18 tires and it seems like the tire would be too wide for the G.

Could someone please enlighten me on this? Thanks!
