i jus ordered a set of volks gts in gloss black.. 19x9.5 +17 and 19x10.5 +18... what size tires do you guys recommend?? 245/35/19 and 275/35/19 seems to be popular... but i was thinking 255/30/19 and 285/30/19... what do you guys think?? thankss

 

if you want to go wider, then go 255/35/19 and 285/35/19, not 30 series, they will be too short and throw off your speedometer/odometer

 

I'm running that exact setup. Just make sure to roll your fenders first.

 

Also, run 5-10mm spacers with those for the perfect look. If you want 30-series, go 265/30 & 295/30

Did you get your 2nd cracked Sevas wheel replaced?

 

im not familiar with spacers.. what is that gonna do?? make the wheels stick out more?? would you go with 35 series or 30 series??

and.. i sent the pics of my cracked sevas to them again... the company said "Sevas Wheels is working with an agency at the moment to have manufacturer take action in fixing faulty wheels. We will be in contact you for what type of compensation can be offered to you. Please give us 1-2 weeks to have final testing's and results."

I have 255/35/19 and 275/35/19. I had to get my rear fenders rolled.

 

Hey triple8sol, If I were to go with 19x9.5 +17 and 19x10.5 +24, could I run 15mm spacers front and 10mm spacers in the back? I'm asking because I already have the spacers installed with my current setup and don't want to remove them if I don't have to. Rear fenders are rolled too.

 

You want to sacrifice lip size so you don't have to remove spacers? Go 19x10.5+18 in the back WITH the 10mm spacers

 

You should swap them around. Put the 15's in the back and 10's up front.

Based on the specs he listed, I think he's looking at a set of Volk GT-F's.

 

Really depends on what kind of look you're going for...stretched or meaty?

I like those sizes, but they're neither stretched nor meaty on your wheels. Nice and wide contact patch though, as long as you're not running too much camber.

 

Obviously they're not stretched But I do think they're on the meatier side. Not the widest of size you can get, but it's up there.

 

People usually say things like "meaty" or "beefy" to refer to the sidewalls. The sidewall on your rears are .3" smaller than a 275/35/19 all around, so .6" smaller in diameter, and .45" smaller than a 285/35/19 meaning just shy of an inch shorter in diameter. About the same deal with the fronts. They're good sizes that are close to being in spec, though.

 

Ahh, I was referring to the contact patch. BTW, just curious, considering the fact that my tires are between .45-.6" smaller in diameter, would that provide more fender gap or less fender gap? I've always been confused between the two. My thought is that if a tire is smaller in diameter, then it will less of the wheel well up as opposed to a similar sized tire that is a tad bit larger in diameter. Reason I ask is because I feel like with my drop, the tire should almost be at the fender, but I have a 1 finger gap in the front, and 1 1/4 finger in the rear.
