Looking at Tires, Need Opinions.

Im looking at tires, because i think my stock RE050As are getting a bit shot.

I honestly dont know which you guys prefer, so i figured id ask.

Michilin Pilot Sport PS2s-heard they were fairly good and my sisters bf can get them threw his work.

Falken FX???-Few of you guys use these.

Nitto Neogen-Sisters bf has these on his STi, he likes them.

Nitto Invo-Ttrank has these, new style, ect. Looks like it would be expensive.

Basically, what im looking for is quieter than the RE050As. Those things are so damn loud its ridiculous. Also looking for cost. Not looking to spend $1000 on tires... dont have that kind of money. And if possible, improved grip and handeling vs the stock RE050As.

Thanks for the future responces. I have been non stop researching and just seeing what you guys prefer.

Yep. I really hate the potenzas. So loud, and i think they are getting down to their wearing point. I bought them off a 07 coupe with 20k miles..

Nitto Invos ranked very low on independent comparison tests. Tread design just looks stupid to me, too. If you can afford the PS2's and have a hookup, go that route. Falken FK452 is a great value, good tires for the price.

PS2's are pretty much the best street tires out there, if you're willing to spring for those. You won't be disappointed.

Right now its between the PS2s and fk452s. All depends on the best deal i can get.

Which would you recommend between those two?

they're 2 completely different ends of the spectrum. The PS2 is IMO, one of the best tires ever made, but it comes at a hefty price.

Discount Tire Direct has them on ebay on sale right now for $1216 with free shipping and no sales tax for a set of 4 245/40/19's.

The Falken's are around $750 shipped for the same size. You also have to factor in around ~$15/tire for mounting and balancing when you get them installed at a shop.

If it were me, i'd get the Falken's, just because i dont have $1200 to drop on a set of tires. And i like having directional tires so i can flip them when the inside wears down to about 25%. The PS2's are asymmetrical tires, which means they can only be mounted one way and can NOT be flipped. So once the inside of the tire is gone, so is the rest of the tire.

The NItto INVO is a fantastic tire for all around use. I had a set in 18"s on my e46 M3. By far one of the quietest riding tires out there. Very comfortable and great wet traction. I wouldn't say take them to the track but they held up great down the back roads. I'm looking into a nother set for the G but the rear size 245/40/19s are backordered all over the country.

^^ +1 on Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta

I've been looking at getting new summer tires as well. They're not well known in the US, but the reviews are great, the owners swear by them, and they are quite inexpensive for their performance.

I'll be getting them for my next set of tires
