I think Firestone will require installation (look at the fine print.)

I thought of that too

I agree, but where else are you going to find rear tire Potenza's for $206/each?? It saves you ~$100 on each tire. No brainer.

Which Potenza are you looking at?

My G35 Sport has Potenza R50A P245/45R18 on the back.

I see there at TireRack they have Potenza:

R050 - $237
R040 - $241

My current rears lasted 20,000 before wear bars were to replace. I like performance, but also would appreciate a quiet and comfortable ride (can't have all of either, but the best compromise.) Looked at the Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season, but folks say it is noisy and rough. Ugh.... Any advice on the best rear tire for a G35 Sport.

I need to replace my rear tires on a stock 05 G35 Coupe 6MT with the 19 inch Rays. Which should I get?

1. Potenza RE050 245/40/19- $206 (each tire after discount)
OR,
2. Potenza RE050 Pole Position 245/40/19- $206 (each tire after discount)
OR,
3. Potenza RE050 255/40/19- $224 (each tire after discount)

Thanks!
RE050 or RE050A? Those are two different tires.

The RE050A Pole Positions are supposed to be a significant upgrade over the stock Bridgestone RE050A which are already great tires aside from the fact that they are loud.

I'm sticking with these RE050's because I got such a good deal on them. However, I'm on my third set of rear RE050's at just 41k miles. The third set was installed 3 days ago and if past performance is any indicator of future results, I'll be getting ~20k miles out of them

Why is the treadwear rating on the 050's so low? Maybe that's too technical of a question.

140 if not mistaken?

Just got off the phone.

quoted $440 for 225/40/19 installed
and $460 for 245/40/19 installed.

they're out of stock but will save the price if i put a down payment.

side note: they wanted $450 (after 15% discount) to put on lowering springs.

Looks good to me. Put a down payment and get a receipt and you should be good to go.

i read the fine print and all it says it "in-store installation required". I currently have winter tires on another set of rims. I dont think they will deny me if I roll in 4 wheels for new tires to be mounted, but not actually put onto the car. Would be pretty stupid if they did. Im going to stop in there tomorrow and purchase 4 RE050As, they are out of stock but I can have them ordered with a down payment.

Thread rating only really matters within the same brand of tires. i.e you can't say the RE050A's with 140 threadwear is less than 180 in some other brand's threadwear.

I got 25,000 miles out of my stock RE050A's with almost 75 drag runs on them and a few canyon runs. I could have probably squeezed out a few more thousand miles but I decided to get new wheels.

just ordered 4 - 235/45R/18 RE050A's for $746.32 installed. Considering these would probably been $1100 installed without the 35%, I think its a good deal.

Good deal! I just got 4 a few months ago for $1100 installed and that was after haggling them down $250.
