Quote: What you dont seem to understand is that when you lower a car, more negative camber is naturally introduced to the suspension geometry. And if it is not corrected, will stay the same. If you get an alignment, you can even out the camber from side to side while still staying around the same numbers the drop provided, and just get the toe in spec. Then you will have enough negative camber to clear. So, YES a drop DOES help with wheel clearance.
I don't agree with this statement. Explain how lowering would change the arc path the suspension moves on if the alignment isn't adjusted? The camber arc is fixed by the pivot points of the suspension. Lowering simply moves the static resting point of that arc to a more negative camber point. Without adjusting the alignment, the clearances will be the same.

That's all I asked and I got a lesson on camber and how toe is the true enemy to tires. GDup inadvertently answered it when he said you had to change the alignment to get clearance which means adding more camber.

They've just been oversimplifying by saying a lowering would improve clearance. In the end it's the alignment changes that help clearance not the drop despite the drop making the static camber angle greater, the wheel would still travel in the same arc and contact in the same locations.
