front bearings! help

My car has been making weird noises lately within the past week, so i took it to goodyear, and they told me that i need my front bearings replaced, they said they could do it for 730$, i said no, they said each part is 280$, plus labor, i then looked to see how much this part is online, and the most expensive one i found was like 118$, does this seem right? My car is riding horrible and i would need to fix this asap, does anyone has two front bearings willing to sell, or any alternative? thanks for your help!

They are many different bearing manufacture's out there so i would not just find the cheapest bearing you can find. You have to remember that there are different quality parts out there and i wouldnt go cheap on a frt hub bearing assembly.

I am in the auto repair business and i can get 2 different quality hub bearing assemblies for just about any car and i allways choose the more expensive one so that i dont have to see my customer come back in 90 days pissed off that he needs it done again.

Also remember a lot of shops will install a cheaper bearing that you bought but will offer no waranty when that bearing goes bad.You will be hit with the labor all over again.

I see thanks for your input, i was just curious to see there bearing was 280, and online and the OEM part was way cheaper, the whole job costing 730$ that doesnt seem right to me.

Thats why i am asking on the forums. DOes this price seem right to you considering you are in the this type of business?

If the oem part is cheaper then get it and find someone to put it in............you cant go wrong using an oem part.In my shop the only parts i will accept to install are oem parts if they are not our parts.
