Tire place damaged my wheels :-/

So I took my car to my usual tire place (not gonna name names until the resolve it or not) I had always bought my tires there and the manager that use to be there is no longer. So I deal with another guy, anyways I had my own tires and just wanted them to mount and balance.

Dropped off the car and went to lunch, came back and picked it up. It was my fault for not checking it out before I left but when I got to work I was going to have the guys wash it. One of them came in and told me about the nicks on my wheels before they even touched it.

I called the place and he said bring in my car this afternoon.

BTW these are new wheels... I recently got into an accident (other guys fault) and they replaced my wheels.

I hope he doesnt give me that BS that they didnt do it and wont get me new wheels. Anyone ever had this problem before? and what happened.

I know my wheels are dirty

Take it back to them and just stand your ground. Most shops try to say it is the owners fault when they know good and damn well that they curbed a rim. I've seen this happen countless times especially at the dealer. It's never happened to me (thank God) but just make them aware.

Also, the first rim looks repaired. Almost like the paint is peeling off.

well that wheel is the original wheel the car came with, that one wasnt replace and there was some curbing when I got it.

But the second pic shows 2 round chips and lots more scratching around the whole rim.

They only touched my front tires and those 2 are the only ones scratched up.

Oh okay. The scratching probally came from when the jammed the breaker bar underneath the rubber to remove and replace the old tire. The chips look like they either dropped the wheel or banged it against something. Nonetheless, I'd tell them I'd want a new wheel or some sort of compensation. Hope it all works out for you though.

^No problem just make sure you speak to a manager. More than likely they will tell you that no one is available but continue to insist. Usually what shops do is they pry the tire off the rim while it is on the machine. This usually causes scratches. The chips could've been caused by the pry tool as well if it kept slipping off the wheel. But the key thing is to stand your ground (they will try to give you the run around though because you are of the female gender)

Well so far the manager is only going to "repair"one wheel. The one with the chips in it, he claims it was weird and could see how those marks could be made by their machine.

The one with the scratches he isnt repairing. He says it's not curbing but they cant justify repairing or replacing them.

Makes me wanna say F-k it and buy new wheels period.

BTW: The name of the company is Dekalb Tire.. I use to go there because the old Manager Shon drove a Black G35 coupe.

Gainesville, Goodyear in VA screwed all 4 of my rims up. I ended up giving up trying to get compensation and took it as a life lesson. I should have pursued it until they fixed all 4 wheels.

here's my experience. they wanted to just waive the $100 mounting fee on the spot or have me get a quote to refinish it. local wheel place was $125. so i ended up getting a quote of $180 through email from a place in dallas. i just told them i'd be in dallas the following week and they specialized doing the dealers' wheels so i felt safer. they cut me a reimbursment check for that amount. took them a while but i got it.if i hadn't told them i was going to dallas, i may have been able to get another $50 to "ship it" down there as well but i'm not greedy. i see the extra $80 as my "ticketmaster convenience fee". i just pocketed the money and it paid for the mounting plus my alignment at the nissan dealer. i can live with the gouges i guess.
