Who has messed with tire machines and TPMS??

I was debating posting this in the tire/wheel section, however I know there are a lot of members in here that are DIY people, and also working int the Tire industry...

I think I have my Bronze TL wheels sold, but I gotta get the TPMS out of them. The guy is beating me down bad, doesn't want/need the sensors, so i can sell them on ebay... However... I have changed tires a million times, just not these. I have never messed with the TPMS and I don't wanna put out more money just to sell them...

How hard is it to get the sensors out???? Can I just pop the beed on the outside lip, un screew the sensor?? Or do I have to actually pull the tire off the rim????

I have access to a tire machine for free, bust i just dont wanna take the chance on scuffing the rims when I have them sold... Any help/advise would be greatly appreciated.

The TL uses a TRW 315mhz sensor and valve stem assembly. Torque on the valve stem assembly is 4 Nm 35in lbs.

The sensor sits in the wheel and is secured via the valve stem that screws to it. So sensor, wheel, valve stem that order from inside out. The tire has to come off the wheel for you to get the sensors out. You might be able to pull up the bead, but the tire is stiff and the sensors have o-rings to keep them from leaking. Might need more leverage than that to get them out. They can fit quite tight at times. Once the tire is off you unscrew the valve stem off the sensor and pull the two apart.

Below is a pic of the TL sensor assembly.

So its going to be about impossible to get the sensors out without taking the tire off???

I don't wanna have to pay money to get them removed, and i dont wanna take the chance of scratching the face.

find another buyer. risk damaging the sensor if you dont take the tire off. shouldn't be much for a dismount at a shop.

Get the buyer to sell the ones that he has now.
& leave yours intact.

or if you're will to sell them.
Take them on trade

Looks like the safest way to remove the TMPS is to remove the tire.

I just told him he was going to have to take them with the sensor. I am at $1,100 meeting him half way. I told him I would only go the $1,000 if he came all the way to me to get them. Its a 3 hour trip each way.

I am tired of messing with it all.... I know if I break them all the way down I will be stuck with the tires... I would rather take a loss and sell them all together.
