After buying my winter tires and swapping them onto the stock 18" rims, I figured it was time to buy some new rims. I was almost about to buy a pair of used 18" Gunmetal LE37's w/ kumho's, until dollar99 convinced me that the Axis Hiros were the way to go. Got a brand spanking new set of 19" Hiros (8.5f/9.5r, +20 offset) and 245/35R19, 275/35R19 SO3's. Props to dollar for the great advice. I couldn't be happier. Proper word of warning: the lug holes were super small for these, so you need a new set of lugs (mine came with the wheels) and a breaker bar with a 13/16." Enough talk. Yea, i forgot to give out props to martin's beautiful ADR's...now thats a sick ride, the only good looking sedan out there (maybe except for gurgenbp) =x.

That kid was the real gangsta, I saw him eyeing the ride, thinking he was gonna carjack my bling bling. I broke his lollipop in half, then he knew that he was messing with the wrong guy.

As to why not Volks: I could've gotten the 18" TE37's with used Kumho's for $2200 shipped, or the 19" Hiro's for $2450 with brand new S03's. I figured $240 was worth the extra inch and brand new tires. So I guess, my main reason was value. Also, I liked the Hiro look. Five spokes seemed a lot cleaner to me, the design was appealing and it was a lot more rare on g35's than the volk's. Volks make awesome wheels. They're just a bit too common right now (altho i'm sure the hiro's will be there someday) and a bit pricey. The g35 looks better with 19's. I don't track or race much so weight isn't a big factor. I think the 19" hiros are only 1-2 lbs heavier than the stock 18's. The Volks are forged, so they are better quality, but Axis makes really strong cast wheels. If i'm not wrong, our stock 18" rims are cast too, so if I can make it through nyc all right with the stock 18's i figured stronger cast 19"s will be just fine.

Gspot good looks man, you did good with those rims. These pic's dont do it justice, honestly. Up close I couldnt stop lookin at them, and the color just makes it that much nicer because of the diamond graphite. Also thanks for the compliment, much more being put on my sedan as we speak Cant wait till next meet, i'll be real modded and ready to go LOL. Also there are quite a few sick lookin G35 Sedans on this site, props to them also. Why does your rim look smaller than mine? Tire size? Martin
