Discoloration 19inch ray's...help needed?

Hi. I am about to purchase a 2006 G35 coupe with the 19inch oem ray's wheels. The seller stated that it has a discoloration on the right rear wheel. I have read up on the forums about this-and aparantly it is due to harsh chemicals used on the wheel-meaning that the only fix is to have it refinished. What do you guys think the best way is to fix this? Can I get a color match and just respray it?

Just for reference-a little background on the car-its a 2006 g35 coupe in ivory pearl, stone interior, navigation system, 36k miles, no accidents, 2 previous owners, premium, aero package. The car has a little curb rash on a few of the wheels...only one has the discoloration that is pretty bad. I have worked the seller down to 20250 and am scheduled to go look at it tomorrow after a 3 hour drive to south carolina. I dont know how much it might cost to repair the wheel or repaint it...if i can do it myself, or if I need to buy a new wheel (like $350 at least). Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks very much!

There is a direct link to the photo. It may be a bit small, but you should be able to see the discoloration on the rear tire.

IP? that's perfect. Powdercoat or Paint the rims to Gold + Polished lips. They will look perfect on IP car. Will not cost you much on powder coating or painting. It will run about $400-$500 for all 4 rims

Hmm. I might go that route. I do like the stock look too though. I just drove 3 hours to see the car today and it's in excellent condition. The rim looks worse in pictures than in person. Zero flaws otherwise.

I would say go for it, you are buying the car not just the rims. If the car is in good condition and you can get a good deal on the price, then buy it. You can fix the rims later on or powder coat them, it is up to you. Im not sure if this can be fixed, but powder coating is sure. My car is IP too and Im running gold+polished lips, the whole car looks so clean and i'd say a perfect match (white + gold).

You will not be able to find a matching color anywhere. Nissan will not release the paint or the paint code. The best bet is to repaint or powder all the wheels. If you powder coat them make sure you get a clear powder topcoat.

What do you think about having one of those rim places online-rim doctor or whatever...try to refinish it?
