Time for new tires. Looking for a set that will wear well and that are quieter. All info is appreciated. Thanks.

I only have the stock 18's but I just got some new nitto Invos and they are near silent compared to the stock pilots I had on before. There are some other posts on here about them and the reviews were great so I tried them. I highly reccomend them to you.

Most tires are designed to be quiet when brand new and evenly worn. The quiestest tires usually have Michelin on the sidewall, especially if you compare tires worn at 8,000 miles!

yeah, all new tires are fairly quiet. We need more opinions from ones that's been used for awhile.

What year/model G do you have? OE sizes or something custom? All season needed or summer only conditions? ETC... any extra info would help greatly.

05 Coupe, 225 45 18 front, 245 45 18 rear. Thinking of going 245 all the way around. All season.

If you ran 245's all around I'd check out the B-Stone RE960 A/S or Pilot Sport A/S Plus. Both are at the top of our surveys right now. I do a bit more of the B-Stones vs. the Michelin. Same selection is available in the oe 225/245 combo.

+1 on the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. They have a stiff sidewall, great grip in dry and wet. The michelin pilot sport summer tires were horrible in the rain.

I got Falken FK452s and it was a day and night difference in road noise from the previous OEM Michelin Pilot Sports. Replaced them after 27k miles. Super quiet, smooth ride now.

Makes me laugh at those who say " wow my brand new tires are so much quieter than my old worn out used tires"..............DUH! [same with brake pads].
Performance tires are all noisey after 8,000 miles because they are tuned to be quiet initially.............when the tread depth changes by even 25% the tuned slot becomes untuned.

A serious problem is pavement noise, the longer the pavement lasts the higher the noise created by every tire. Tires are tested to be quiet on average pavement but locals pavements may not be similiar to test pavements.
Coarse pavement [for water drainage] is extremely loud.
"It was found that open graded mixes generally reduce the tire/pavement noise level, and the amount of reduction is correlated with air-void content, and surface texture. However, the noise-reduction benefit may be lost with the increase of pavement ages."
Here are some accurate tests on various pavemment types in db SPL:
As you can see different types can cause a > 6db [TWICE AS LOUD] difference in noise!
Novachip (aged) 79.5 79.8
Microsurfacing
(MoPac @ 45th)
80.1 79.9
Coarse Matrix High Binder 80.7 80.6
Asphalt (new) 81.5 81.6

CRCP (untined) 82.4 83.0

83.1 82.9
CRCP (tined, aged) 83.8 84.0

Seriously.. I was going mention it as well but figured Q45tech cover it already. Sadly, it was overseen.
