Road force balancing

Hola, senors y senoras.

A few weeks ago, I hit a curb pretty bad. Put a huge bubble in my right/front tire, and wrecked my right/rear rim.

Even after this incident, the car drove like it was on glass. Perfectly smooth at highway speeds.

I replaced my two front tires, and right rear rim yesterday, and had them road-force balanced.

The tech said that the left/front rim needed to be replaced due to high road force, 164lbs. So he put the new rim with old tire in front/right and old rim and new tire on right/rear. Now this thing vibrates like a 1990 Nova. It's BAD.

My "problem" is that the car rode perfectly fine before yesterday, even with a f-ed up front tire and f-ed up rear rim. Now that I replaced the tire and wheel, it's allll messed up. I don't get it.

Are the tires mismatched now? Also double check the retards tightened the wheels to spec.

The tires are all the same brand / model, but the new ones are on opposite corners.

I found that the vibration wasn't so bad today. I'm wondering if there was a flat spot on the tire. I'm going to drop the PSI for my ride home, then see how it rides in the morning.

I highly doubt that the one tire is a smaller diameter due to wear and causing the issue, were all the tires balanced or just the new ones? Check the pressure in all the tire to see if they are the same or close. Also check to see if the wheel weights fell off maybe....

I'm going to rotate the left tires so the new rim / old tire is in the rear and new tire / old rim is up front (the one they said is "bad"). Want to see if I get more or less steering wheel shake to see where the vibration is coming from.

I stopped by, and they said that the rim is bad. I don't understand how if the car rode perfect before and after the curb strike, but vibrates only after the replacement of a tire, would indicate a rim problem. Makes zero sense to me. Grrrrrrrr

Brought it back. He re-calibrated the machine and the "numbers came down". He wouldn't say what the new numbers are, but the car rides perfect now.

Seeing that he only found one bad wheel before, I think he made an error on Monday and corrected it.

Thx Gobs
