Advice Please - Tires on 07 G35 Journey 4dr w/ 18's
I need new tires soon & want to get more tire life than the oem Bridgestone RE050's. I do not drive real aggressive, need good wet/dry performance & will not need for snow. The following were recommended:
Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS, the Michelin Sport A/S+ and Continental Extreme Contact DWS
I would really like to know what the disadvantages or issues are with running 245/45/18's all the way around vs the stock 245/45 R and 225/50 F stock set up? If I could rotate all 4 tires around without any issues and still keep decent performance that would be awesome.
Please let me know your thoughts and thanks

There shouldn't be any issues running 245/45's all around. The 225/50 is only slightly larger in diameter than the 245/45, roughly 0.2" or 4.5mm.
I'd stick with the 960's or the Pilots. The DWS is a new tire, and if you read it's description, it's only an S for a few mm of tread depth, and only a W for a few more, then it's just a tire. Continental makes good tires, but since they're all basically the same price (expensive), I'd go with the known performance and reliability of the Bridgestone or the Michelin.

Thanks Buckeye and I'm leaning heavy towards the Bridgestones, as I have had great luck with this brand for several years on several cars. I simply don't want to screw up the VDC computer and have it thinking my car is doing something it is not........sounds like the 4.5mm of diameter change should be ok.
The VDC shouldn't be an issue because you're running so close to stock. The '07 G35x has the same wheels as the Journey (I think) and that uses 225/50-18's on all 4 corners, but it needs to run the same sizes or the AWD can get screwed up. But that's such an obscure size (what is it with Infiniti on their AWD's sticking us with such poor tire choices!), I'd switch over to 245/45's too.
Keep us updated on what you get and how it drives for you. BTW, where on the planet are you? Do you need an all-season? I'm getting 245/45-18 Bridgestones this week too (RE760A Sport). It's a summer tire, but I've got a winter setup on my stock 17's for the fluffy white stuff.

My wherabouts
I'm in Memphis, TN and in sales, so I am on the road a lot with my G35.....when I need new RE050's every 10 months it hurts! We get some snow here, but I also have a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon to handle what little bad weather we have. Thanks again for the advice....really!
