i had the v12 225 40 19 f / 245 40 19 r hankook good tires but their reponse isnt that great ( they just seem heavy) but for the price there really good. im running the invos now and i love them. setup 245 30 19 front / 275 30 19 rear. very quiet and respond great. a little more than the v12s but priced matched at 225 per tire on average.

Yea, I have a separate set of winter tires I just picked up. I definitely wanted to avoid running summer tires in the cold. I had Toyo's T1-R's on my Acura and they were useless once it got cold.

I have a 07 g35 6mt with the premium package, about 21k miles (2 trackdays included) and they need replacing.
stock wheels are 19's.
stock tires are 225/40/19f, 245/40/19r Potenza re050a's.
I live in southern california so summer performance tires like the potenza's are fine.
edit: car is all stock, no suspension upgrades, no lowering, etc.

I priced the replacement tires at tirerack.com, where I always buy my tires, and they were $1200 tires/shipping only. add another $150 or so for mounting.

Are there alternative tires, in stock sizes, that are at least as quiet as the potenzas, wear a little better (isnt their 140 tread wear rating the lowest possible before being considered a DOT race tire, lol?), grip just as good but are less expensive?
A tall order, I'm sure.

I do drive aggressively and I still plan to get in a couple trackdays this year. Actually, if they wear about the same as the potenzas that'd be fine too as I will return the lease in about a year or 18 months anyway.

Any suggestions? Yokohama Advan's maybe?
There's alot of guys that swear by the Nitto Invo's, ive ran Falken's 452 there great tires grip like crap on a baie blanket!!

ah, thanks for the info guys. I had committed to buying the potenzas again, as I'm happy with the grip and wear I got from the stock set (and I will return the lease in a year so they only need to last that long, lol).

I may look into getting the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's now though. A friend has a tire shop and priced the stock potenza's at $925 installed, so thats better than $1350...
