Vibration when braking? help please!

This problem didnt happen when i first got my car, but it has been occuring for 3 weeks now. Whenever i stop pretty hard, i can feel the rear vibrating. It is VERY noticeable and loud. I am concerned there is a problem with my brakes system. My car is lowered, so maybe i hit something on the underbody causing this? help would be greatly appreciated. anyone else experiencing this?

sounds like your rotors are warped. Have infiniti check them out.

I agree rotors sound warped but don't expect the dealer to fix it. They may try the wear & tear crap. If you're under a year you shuold have a solid complaint. Side question-do you wash your rims when they are still hot? I only ask because some folks drive their car to the car wash and the rims and brakes don't have enough time to cool down and the water screws them by cooling the metal too quickly.

Omar I think what IQ9 was getting at was; do you wash your car soon after you stop driving, not driving soon after you wash the car.

What can happen is that if you wash your car soon after you drive (when the rotors are still hot) the sudden chilling of the rotors could induce warping.

Good luck at the dealer bud.

Yea I normally do wash like 10 minutes or so after i stop driving. I never really thought about how washing your car immediately after driving it would effect it. Thats what happened to my old car too (integra). The rotors in my teggie musta been warped too i guess. Ok ill keep that in mind. What is a good amoutn of time to wait before washing to allow the car to cool off?
