04 coupe MAX tire width
ive serached for a definate answer for a while now and cant seem to get a straight answer.
i got a 04 6mt coupe, stock 18" wheels. the dealer told me the wheels are staggered. 18x8 front and 18X8.5 back. i have the 245/45/18 on back but wanna go wider. FIRST, can someone confirm the back wheels are in fact 18x8.5 ( i have seen people say there 8" wide) and if that is true how do i determine how wide i can go safely on a tire , keeping the overal dia. the same ( 255/45/18, 265/40/18,275/35/18, etc..) thanks.

Wheels are 18"x8" all around. Only the tires are staggered. I would 2nd redlude's recommendation - 245 is the widest I would go.
