New All Seasons from Continental

Does anyone have information on the new Continental Extreme Contact DWS (Dry, Wet, Snow) All Season tires? MY tire distributor recommended them for my 2004 G35 Coupe and I was wondering if they're better than the Pilot Sport A/S or Potenza RE960.

THanks.

Larry

I recall somebody getting the new Continentals if not in the all-season mode first then definitely in the DW version. Did you try searching?

They look like decent tires, but they're unproven and no bargain. For an additional $20-$25 per tire, you can get the Pilot Sport A/S or RE960A, which are probably the best all-seasons out there. And by all-season, I of course mean 3 seasons. But considering where you live, you can probably get by with them all year. Unless you're getting a killer deal, and are willing to take a risk on an unproven tire, I'd spend the extra and get the Michelins or Bridgestones. Or better yet, buy a summer tire and a separate setup for winter.

(Actually, I wouldn't get any of them for winter use, but I live in snow country and have Nokian WR's on my stock 17's for the winter.)

Good tire for wet, not sure on snow/ice just yet as they just came out. Were a bit choppy on the dry road cause of the tread design. I really would not say they are a better tire than the B-Stone or Michelin. Good tire for the money though.

Has anybody put these on their G yet? I'm about to order some tires, and can't go to expensive. I like these and the ASX's, or the new P Zero Nero All Season, but they only list 3 or less in the size I need. And I need tires soon.

What size do you need? Is it different than stock? There are other sites that carry these tires besides The Rack. TireSavings.com has them for about the same price and they're in stock.

I just went there and they have 245/45-18 Conti Extreme Contact DWS in stock for $156 each. Not sure how you're searching, but they're there. https://www.tiresavings.com/index.php

I'm waitin for the perelli's. But I think I might just go with these instead even though they aren't rated for snow the whole tread life, but how good is anyother allseason tire after it starts to wear down. Plus accoding to tire rack the wet traction on these is way better also.

I don't know where you live, but all-season tires really can't handle moderate to heavy snowfall. They just get too hard in the cold weather. If you're only worried about wet weather, then just about any quality all-season will work fine. If you get snow, don't expect an all-season to be worth much after the first winter once the tread's worn down a little bit. And personally, I wouldn't buy the Pirelli's. I think their quality has gone down in the last 3-5 years, and they wear out quickly. I know it's more money, but think about saving up for the Pilot Sport A/S or RE960A tires. Don't go cheap on tires because you'll be disappointed down the road (literally and figuratively).

I live in southern Colorado. We really don't get that much snow. We'll maybe have 3-4 really bad storms but they clear up in a day or 2.
