Thinking about these new wheels I want to get and questions

So right now I have 17" OEM coupe wheels which are stock shown below. They are 225 45 17 in the front and 235 45 17, in the back. I was thinking when I buy my next set of tires will it really make a difference if I just buy 225 for front a back?

So I am planning on replacing my stock wheels with 18" ones which will fill in the wheel well a bit more and then I can go with a tire wall of about 40 instead to get rid of the floppy tire look. I am interested in getting these wheels from tirerack, black ASA GT1's shown below.

I want your guys opinions on what it will look like or if any of you have or seen it on a car, post it here please.

I think those would look great! I do think you should go with 19's though. You can still run a 40 aspect ratio and keep the same diameter as stock. (I think, at least I did on my sedan).

If those are the rims you like and the size you want to run you could use 245/45X18's on all four corners. The 225's are too small to use on the back side. Although I like the 19" much better than the 18" the tires will cost you a lot less and the ride will be better with 18"....Good Luck, whatever you do it will look better than those 17"!

Good advice thanks but also, could it work if I got the 18" wheels and make it a wall size of 35 so 225/35/18. Cause that will make it look like it is semi dropped, what are your opinions on that?

First off those wheels only come in an 18x8 +35 which will look worse than stock 18's being as they are a higher offset so the wheel will be even MORE sunken in

You NEED to keep it around the same rolling diameter as stock. If you're going with 18's on a coupe you should be doing 225/45/18 up front and 245/45/18 out back. If you really want to do the same size all around do a 245/45.

Going with a smaller sidewall is not going to make your car "look" dropped, it's going to increase the tire to fender gap and make the car look even worse.

I think I am over that wheel and looking into the MSR 045 Wheel image below.

what does everyone think, I am planning on having them have a 40 wall size if I get them so 225/40/18 and 245/40/18 in back

Also, while this wheel work for a g35 coupe?

The msr are 10 spoke instead of the Asa 9 spoke but if I get either wheel I don't want to have the silver strip around the wheel where the time attack would be and I font know how to make it the same color of the wheel does anyone have suggestions?

Which out of all of these listed will be the correct pattern to buy for my car?
http://www.msrwheels.com/wheels_detail_specs.cfm?id=411

I think I will proceed with getting the Hyper grey MSR type 045 wheel, I just dont know if it will fit on the car. I am kind of new to picking out wheels and tires so can anyone help explain what it means when you say 8.5 or 9.5?

Check out the link I posted and let me know which one I have to choose under the Hyper grey color, Thanks.

there all 18x8 which is the width of the wheel.

since there all 8inch width I suggest go with oem tire size 225/45 front and 245/45 rear just so you keep the staggered look the G comes with or just go 245/45 all around, but you loose the staggered look and may get VDC issues, you might, but dont quote me cause some get VDC issues some dont.

then just add wheel spacers if you feel you want to sit more flush.

I really suggest you do some more searching on offsets, wheel widths, and tire sizes. That way you get what you really want without regreating your final decision

Thanks for the input ya I am doing some research on it like the wheel/tire size calculations and it says It will be .461 % slower for the front going from 225/50/17 too 225/45/18 and it says it willl be 1.61% slower on the back when I go from 235\50\17. what is your guys opinions
side note: I bought it from the dealer cert. Pre owned with those tire sizes so maybe the previous owner wad a dumb*** and put 235 instead of 245 on the back but all in all how does it effect you whether you have 225 or 245 in the back cause I'll get really good tires for rain and traction but what else does it do against me?
