18" ride quality

I was thinking about getting 18”s (sedan) but I was wondering how much of a ride quality will I lose? I’m not lowered or anything. Keep in mind I live in NY

Re: 18" ride quality

I've recently switched over to 18x8.5 rims with 245/40 tires. To me, the ride quality only seems a little bit harsher [virtually the same, really] than the the stock 17x7.0 with the Goodyear GS-D tires. I kept both the original wheels and now my current wheels inflated to 36 psi [cold]. I'm in Southern CA though, so the roads are probably better than in NY. I have a 6MT too [stock sports suspension].

Re: 18" ride quality

I put 18"s on my sedan and had the same affect, very small change in the ride. I think it had to do more with the tire size though than the rim size. The smaller the sidewall, the more road you will feel.

I dont regret going to 18s. Hope this helps you in your decision

Re: 18" ride quality

I have not lowered the car yet. However, I probably am going to do it, but when I can is another matter. You can see picts of my car in my profile, in the Volk rims thread, in the DG sedan w/ aftermarket wheels thread, etc...
