Re: Tein Flex Installed

Nice setup, how do they feel? I just installed the SS coilovers in my girl's car, and the dang pillowball mounT wasn't included. Does the Flex come with it?

Re: Tein Flex Installed

Jason, thanks alot! i absolutely luv them! i lowered the front 1.5" and the rear 1". no bottoming out issues. the rear right shock has a slighty buckling noise to it, but it doesnt bother me much. the edfc is the best part of it all. on the fly adjustments is such an awesome perk of this system. since i live in the suburbs and drive to the city often, i can switch up the dampening force to adapt to the roads. i've tested it already and i have to say its well spent money (aside from my rims, i'll post pics soon). on a level of 14 (16 being softest, 0 hardest), i find that the car does not ride much harder than stock. i would have to say it retains a near stock ride with a slightly tighter feel to it, but in NO WAY HARSH. i was totally surprised that it rode so smoothly even after i dropped it. on a setting of 4, it rides very tight, BUT IN NO WAY HARSH. my last car was a 92 integra with coils and every bump i hit i had that agonizing pain and heard the heart-stopping BAMM! this setup retains the smoothness of the car, but at the same time handles much tighter. granted, if u hit a humongous bump or pothole, it'll hurt, but with this setup i found it was not much different than stock hitting the same bumps and potholes (yes, i tested it), maybe a few degrees more painful, but not rim-denting painful. everyone who says the spring rate is too high is either reading other people's posts and drawing their conclusions without first hand knowledge or is used to lifelessly handling car. the car definitely tends to oversteer now (but you can adjust dampening differences btwn rear and front to change that, and quite honestly i never really felt understeer in this car pushing it around turns to begin with), but its very controllable around corners at a reasonable speed (unreasonable for stock setup, hehe). to make a long story short (too late i guess) the car handles a hell of a lot better and does not feel too far off from stock on a soft setting. it looks more aggressive at all angles. definitely get the edfc if you like to switch things up now and then. if i have time and i feel that it'll be worth the time for anyone on this forum, i can probably do a write up on the install, which was VERY EASY if you have the right tools and a lift. one thing i have to add is that i'm used to cars that handle like they are on rails, and the Flex setup falls one yard short of a touchdown. i expected a lil more at the 0 setting, but i am still overly satisfied with the system. you kinda have to expect that if your car handles like it is on rails, then the ride comfort is gonna go down the tube, try driving a track-prepped race car on your local new york expressway and see if your teeth still have the fillings at the end of the ride. overall i think that this is a very impressive system that has lots of flexibility (no pun intended) for the daily driver.
