Re: Nismo S tune Suspension.

I don't think this set-up is height adjustable and defiitely is not cheap. I would look at HKS or Cusco, very high quality coilovers and adjustable. I've read mixed reviews on the Nismo from MY350Z.com. The one person who wasn't pleased noted that the Nismo felt no different than stock suspension on the Z.

Re: Nismo S tune Suspension.

I just ordered it. Been looking for a complete kit for my G35 Sedan and when i read your link, i was stoked. I dont like just using lowering springs, as that will throw off your suspension setup, as the stock shocks were not designed to work with those springs. Finding a setup thats designed for your car and keeps a nice ride is perfect, plus lowers 1.1". I'll let you know what I think after I get it installed.

As far as the guys on 350z goes, the stock suspension is hard to beat unless you want a extreamly stiff ride. With the G35 sedan the ride is to soft even with the optional sport suspension. So I think you will noticed a bigger difference with this setup on the G35 vs the 350z.

Re: Nismo S tune Suspension.

That is NOT a Nismo sedan setup. That is the G coupe Nismo that of course happen's to bolt right up to the sedan. It does NOT only lower the sedan 1.1 inch, you will in fact lower you around 1.6: to 1.8". The actual sedan Nismo is not imported into the US by anyone, which is a good thing because is use's spring rates that are just a fractional bit firmer then oem. We already have one member running that suspension on his sedan. The thing that must be realized is that the setup is ment to improve the Z, but Nissan's choice of progressive springs on what is intended as more sporting offering is a backwards move, though the spring rate logic used is spot on. Their are better choices to be had to improve the sedan for the same money, frankly for what it offers, it is terribly overpriced for what you get, not to mention better offerings at the same or lower price point.

Their is no such thing as a Z33 or V35 coilover suspension system that can throw off your sedan's suspension. However buyer beware on spring rates and roll stiffness tranfer to the front, like Cusco and G35 HKS LS+ and LS.

All FM platform suspensions are easy to beat, Z33, V35 and CVP35 suspensions squek buy with barely enough work on their shock valving, that is where all after market systems will offer a improvment first and foremost. You do not have to have a stiff ride to have a better suspension on the sedan or coupe for that matter. For instance sedan owners can move to Koni shocks or Tokico D-spec shocks without changing ride quality very much at all and the valving performance in the Koni's is superior to oem. Koni specifically removed compression dampning on the shocks to improve ride quality. Also when you study aftermarket G35 sedan springs you will see that they are not offered with a stiffness that the oem shocks cannot deal with, offten times they are in fact softer then oem.

Re: Nismo S tune Suspension.

Ok now you got me worried. On there web page says the Nismo Type S Suspension lowers the coupe 20 mm and the sedan 30mm which is 1.18".. and your saying its 1.6" to 1.8" ????

Are they just lying on there web page or are you just quoting numbers that you really dont have any evidence (on this kit anyways). I need to know because if it lowers it more then the 1.18" then I defeinatly dont want it. I just got a email today saying its on backorder and they will get it in about 2 days. So if what your saying is true, i need to cancel the order.

Also you say this suspension is the same one they use on the Z? how come the Z verion of this supsensin is a lot less if its the same as the sedan/coupe?

Here's the description on the suspension from performance nissans web page

Application: 2003-2004 G35 Coupe or Sedan
Lowers vehicle by 20mm Coupe / 30mm Sedan
Spring rate and damping force tuned specifically for this model 8kg Front / 9kg Rear
Provides improved steering response
Precise bolt-on installation
Reduces body lean, pitch, and dive
Provides neutral, balanced handling

So if all there doing is using the same 350z suspenion and calling it a G35 one and charging more, i'm definatly going to cancel my order

Re: Nismo S tune Suspension.

Thanks for the heads up, I just called performance nissan and they confired what you said about the suspension, its designed for the 350z and the installer there said it does drop it around 1.6".... Ticks me off that there web page makes it sound like a specific kit for the G35 sedan and only a 1.18" drop. Talk about being misleading...

Thanks again ..

Re: Nismo S tune Suspension.

Never ends.. hehe Ok i just call back from Performance Nissan and the manager told me the kit the installer was talking about was the Type S for the 350z, which bolts on the Sedan and lowers the sedan around 1.8"... He said the kit I ordered is brand new and is a different part number from the 350z and gureantees me that it was designed specificaly for the G35 Sedan and Coupe and will only drop it 1.18"

So what do you think?

Re: Nismo S tune Suspension.

I have the Nismo S-tune (350Z) suspension on my sedan. First, let me say it makes quite a bit of difference on the Z. It makes a world of difference on the G sedan.

While the kit is not perfect (errr.... no kit is), I really like it. It is overpriced though. I already had the kit on my Z, so it cost me nothing to put it on the sedan. I originally bought it when the Z came out and it was the only suspension available (I had to order it from Japan).

It does drop the sedan in the 1.5" range, maybe slightly more. Ride quality is not bad, body roll is greatly improved. With the suspension (w/ sways) and Z-rated tires, I was able to take my "test" corner at about 88mph vs. 72mph on stock suspension and tires.
