Unhappy Rubber chunked out of bead

I just bought a used set of Michelin Alpin PA2 snow tires for a hundred bucks. They have about 6mm of tread, so should get me through this winter ok.
I just noticed that there is a 2.5" x .5" chunk missing on the bead on one of them though. I suppose its hard to tell if this tire will still be ok until I get it mounted?

Nope. Air is going to leak out of there. If not immediately, it will soon. Not safe to drive on that.

Well, actually, two good snows for a $100 is fine (I don't want to run 3 of these and 1 of another, but 2 and 2 is fine with me). Just pissed I did not see it when I bought them.

Looks like a shop that retreads truck tires can fix this most likely. Will find out soon enough.
